Coach Richard Ebarb

 

Head Coach and Trainer for Coach.Vegas.  The current Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and former Atlanta Braves and New York Yankee Scout backed by more than 25+ years of coaching athletics in high school and college, Coach Ebarb’s experience in coaching ranges from head coach to assistant coach, including pitching, team hitting and catching, and bench.  He also specializes in strength conditioning on the high school and college level for softball, basketball, soccer, football and baseball athletics. 

 

His enthusiasm and knowledge of sports stems from his own personal involvement in multi-sports as a child.  In his youth, Coach Ebarb was a 3 time all conference outfielder, a varsity 2 sport athlete in football (1984-1986), and Nevada Player of Year (1986).  He was named Arizona All-Star (1988), and Westmont College’s Most Valuable Reliever (1990) leading them to a victory win in the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship that same year.

 

Coach Ebarb’s career successes include assistant coaching the Coronado Cougars to win their first team sport State Championship in 2012, the CSN Coyotes to win the National Junior College Baseball Championship in 2003, and the nationally ranked Green Valley Gators to win the State Championship in 1995 and 1996.   Other accomplishments include authoring and publishing “Methods Baseball Training” and developing “Baseball Strong,” a step-by-step training and coaching organization for sport & fitness programs in Nevada, California and Colorado. 

 

He has a MS in Education Leadership, BA in Physical Education & Kinesiology, Minor in Sports Education Leadership, UNLV Teaching Certification, NIAA Coaching Certification, and Nike’s SPARQ Training Certification. 

 

Coach Ebarb continues to train top athletes in Nevada and California.

 

Coach Chuck "Haz" Hazzard

 

Hazzard is no stranger to the Las Vegas baseball community, having served as an assistant coach with UNLV from 2003-05 and again from 2011-13 helping guide the Rebels to two Mountain West Conference Championships. Hazzard also served as an Assistant Coach at Pepperdine University where he worked with the catchers and hitters from 2005-07.  While at Pepperdine, Hazzard helped the waves to a West Coast Conference Championship and two NCAA Regional appearances.

Hazzard also served as an assistant coach at nearby Coronado High School in Henderson, Nev., from 2008-11. His agressive approach on offense led the team to record setting totals in stolen bases and runs scored.  

 

Hazzard enjoyed a stellar playing career at the University of Florida from 1995-98, reaching the College World Series in '96 & '98. A two-time co-captain of the Gators, Hazzard was a First Team All-Southeastern Conference selection and 18th round draft selection by the New York Yankees. He is the only player in UF history to be named to the All-SEC First Team, All-SEC Tournament Team, NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team and College World Series All-Tournament Team in the same season. Hazzard also played a summer in the prestigious Cape Cod league for the Wareham Gatemen.  While in the Cape he was one of only three hitters to hit over .300 for the summer with the other two being Lance Berkman and Pat Burrell.

 

Hazzard played his high school baseball in Texas for Dallas Jesuit. He led the city of Dallas his junior year with a .583 batting average.  His senior year he became the first private school player to be named to the Dallas Morning News All-Area Team. In May of 2014, he was inducted into Jesuit's Sports Hall of Fame.

Hazzard has a BS in Sports Management from the University of Florida and a MS in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University.

 

Coach Ronnie Burkey

 

Coach Ronnie Burkey is one of Coach.Vegas' leading trainers and coaches.  Coach Burkey's primary focus is motivating players while emphasizing the importance of athletic strength and conditioning.

 

He is a licensed personal trainer and licensed CCSD coach and substitute.  As a former a CSN and Georgia College baseball player, Coach Burkey shares his experience as a former baseball player and personal trainer with many local and professional athletes.  He is also a principal in his own training company, Fiture Metamorphosis.

 

 

Coach Dave C. Anderson

 

Coach Dave Anderson has had an expansive playing and coaching career.  Coach Anderson was first drafted professionally out of high school by the Cincinnati Reds in 1978.  He turned down the Red’s offer and was next drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1979 while he was in Junior College.  He turned down the Royal’s offer and transferred to UNR.  While playing at UNR, he was drafted a third time by the LA Dodgers in 1981.  Coach Anderson accepted the Dodger’s offer and played professionally for the Dodger's organization for the next 5 years and numerous other professional organizations therafter.  

 

During his tenure in professional baseball, Coach Anderson trained with several of the best pitching coaches in the league including Sandy Koufax, Larry Sherry, Dave Wallace, Tim Kelley, and Ben Hines.  He also played alongside MLB baseball greats Steve Howe, Bob Welch, Fernando Valenzuala, Orel Hershisier, Sid Fernandez, Ken Howell, Dan Plesac, and John Franco. 

 

While still playing professional baseball, Coach Anderson transitioned his playing career into a coaching career.  Today, Coach Anderson's vast coaching experience includes head coach, assistant coach, and pitching coach on professional, collegiate and high school levels.  He is a strong advocate for pitching arm care and takes exceptional notice on teaching players proper arm care maintenance training protocol.

 

Coach Derrick Williams

 

Derrick Williams is no stranger to coaching baseball.  One of his many accolades includes leading the Cheyenne Little League team to become the first team from Nevada to ever advance to the Little League Western Regionals in San Bernardino in 2012.  Since then, Derrick has continued to coach baseball and his players have become some of the top high school players in Las Vegas.

 

Derrick is currently the Assistant Varsity Coach at Rancho High School and was Nevada American Legion 2015 Coach of the Year.

Coach Greg Marshall

 

Greg Marshall is the director of personal training at both The Gym at City Creek in Salt Lake City and The Gym at Station Park in Farmington. He has helped several thousand clients decide to get involved in fitness and better their lives through the use of personal training and fitness programs.

 

Greg is the author of the book “Body Fit: A Beginner’s Guide to Fitness” as well as a contributor for Healthy Utah magazine, Salt Lake Magazine, KSL, Club Industry Magazine, and has been on the radio for X96 and featured on ABC Channel 4 Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

Greg is also on the advisory board for Eagle Gate College and is a former collegiate baseball player (College of Southern Nevada and Southern Utah University).

 

He has also owned a personal training company (Elite Sports Performance), currently owns a training company (Fiture Metamorphosis) helped start up and open 4 different gyms, has trained several hundred personal trainers on how to build up their clientele, he has published a book called “How to Sell Personal Training”, he has created an iPhone app titled “Body Fit: A Beginner’s Guide to Fitness” and his main passion is to be able to help people improve their day to day lives. 

Coach Zeke Parraz

 

Zeke Parraz brings years of experience in professional fitness and strength training as a former NCAA D1 and professional baseball player with The Oakland Atheltics. He has also designed and implemented the strength and conditioning program as Assistant Head Coach of the College of Southern Nevada baseball team.

 

As the Assistant Head Coach at CCSN, he was responsible for instructing hitting, fielding, and was personally responsible for the team’s strength and conditioning program, overseeing all workouts and practices.  He was also responsible for recruiting prospective athletes and evangelizing the program via personal visits, phone conversations, and mail solicitations, as well as monitoring the players’ academic success, arranging academic help services as necessary.  Having been a three time draft pick himself, Zeke understands the recruiting process and shares his knowledge and experience with preparing prospective athletes for recruitment.

 

Zeke's personal accomplishments include several academic awards including the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American 2nd Team, All-Mountain West Conference Academic Team, Millennium Scholar and Dean's Honor List.  His collegiate athletic honors include Mountain West Conference Player of the Week, All-Mountain West Conference First Team and Tournament Team, Brooks Wallace College Player of the Year Award Finalist, and All-Scenic West Athletic Conference First Team.
